    Jackshaft garage door opener

As with any garage door opener, first ensure your door is balanced (should remain in place about half-way open without creeping up or down) and it's not binding anywhere along the track. This is a do-it-self project, though a friend makes a good living installing/repairing/adjusting garage...

    Fuel Fumes from older vehicles...

I was visiting a car dealership where the 32? coupe used by ZZ Top was displayed. As I approached the vehicle I detected a faint fuel smell. Looking under the hood, I spotted fuel leaking from the carb onto the intake. I mentioned the problem to one of the floor sales guys and he said they...

    mesh or rebar in driveway?

Might want to consider other alternatives than concrete. Several years ago I did a driveway (20'x100') using concrete pavers. I got an excellent price on the pavers and the sand/gravel used for the base was nearly free. The major cost for the project was the compactor rental as I used it...

    1/2" torque wrench recommendation

I'd suggest not. I've had two CM micro torques fail outside the warranty period with just weekend usage. I now have a used SK unit and it's kept calibration for the past six months with average usage.

    Appraisal Help Please .... KR537A

x2...... If you're not going to restore it, avoid parting it. Start with a asking price and let the market rule.

Anyone on here into cigars scotch and other libations?

Anytime I'm CA, I have a standing order from two neighbors to pick up a couple of bottles. Needless to say I've been converted.

    Fishing pole storage

Take the money......just kidding. I have a similar situation....I'm the only one in the local area with tools....and a reasonable capability for utilizing same. As several neighbors like to gather at a local breakfast spot on a regular basis, someone always picks up my bill.

ALMOST struck out at yard sales today. Wow!

Though I have yet to stumble on such a haul, I'd say the gentleman was given the tools by a relative who did put them to use. Ofttimes I've seen a pile of tools stuffed into a nook unappreciated by a son who received them upon the death of his dad.

    220V outlet question

I like your original plan. Besides if you go with a plasma cutter, you'll need two outlets....one for the PC and one for the compressor. I don't like 240 volt extension cords.....

    6" Wilton Vise

nice acquisition..... The CL ad on the Snappy boxes is tempting.....too bad I'm not heading to the seller's locale this week. Still thinking how I would explain the excess carry-on luggage to TSA.

If you've never owned a soldering station, buy yourself an early xmas present...

I've been looking for a decent soldering iron since I'm about to repair a faulty MOBO. As I'm saving several 100 dollars doing the job myself, I can justify the 85 dollar cost.... thanks for this info...

Need help with Stihl FS45 trimmer (weedeater)

x2 on the above.....plus Oftimes during even short periods of storage with fuel in the tank/carb, fuel may evaporate leaving deposits clogging the carb passages. Get a spray can of carb cleaner, remove the fuel line and spray the interior of the fuel tank. Let the cleaner flow through the...

Fathers Day and What happened to Sears?

Sears has a sale on Craftsman tools on their site....until the 20th. However I've found better deals when they offer free shipping. Unless you're making a large purchase the 10/15% off is overshadowed by shipping charges.
