The Unofficial Vise Parts Swap Thread.

I have an old Eron number 6 vice I have had for around 40 years. It needed new screws for the Jaws and I now have a Bag full of Vice Jaw Screws on hand if anyone needs any. These are 90 degree taper flat head Allen type screws. M8 X 1.25 X 20 MM total length. 012.9 marked on the head. Had to buy...

No luck here. But I did pull the trigger on Catalog number 76 that was on eBay. We will see if this tool is listed when it comes.

No I haven't. I will do that. Thanks for the link. There are several catalogs on eBay. The problem is we have no idea if this particular tool is listed.

Thanks for the reply. I did follow the Patent number and did see the valve spring compressor. That half of the tool does have the forked part that would be used in a normal valve spring compressor. I have found three alike units including the one I have. The only thing this may do is to lift the...

Clean up on this little hand Vice was successful. It was a great learning experience for my better other half. This was her first attempt at using a glass bead cabinet. I taught her some tricks about loosening rusted things up without breaking them. Did some of this in my Reed C-4. Talk about...

Found this little hand held vice in an old CJ3B Willys Jeep I rescued during the week. Gave it to my honey and she is going to clean it up and make it work again. Not sure of the manufacturer?

Bringing this out of the archives. I have a RIMAC tool here. # 622. What is it's intended purpose?

    sullair 185 overheating

Take off the radiator cap. Start the engine when it is cold. If you see bubbles coming up it means it has a bad head gasket, or crack in the head or cylinder liner.

    Machinists vise ???

Palmgren makes some nice ones. I have one that both angles and swivels. You can find them on eBay. Mine I can bolt down on a milling machine, drill press, or surface grinder. Would work on a bench also. Depends how accurate you want/ need one to be.

Bridgeport Mill - Running - Good Deal at $1200?

Bought my Bridgeport at an Auction. It had a Newall Digital readout for both the X and Y axis. I was told by the auctioneer, who is a friend, it was from a wood working trade school that went under and was being sold off by the bank. It has a J2 Variable Drive head. The Newall Readout was never...

Wow. A real labor of love is all I can say. It was used up for someone, but not for that fellow. Nice job.
