Restoring 1952 Wilton Bullet 8400 Vise

Was doing some stuff on the work bench today and found a bottle of "Super Blue" that I once used to touch up some parts on a gun barrel... either way, one thing led to another, and I "Blued" my handle, collar and jaws. On the handle it helps hide a lot of the inperfections, which it has a ton...

Mine does as well, but it says quite a bit at that full extension. (Just under 7") Does anyone know how much a replacement handle will cost me?

Restoring 1952 Wilton Bullet 8400 Vise

Question: Am I missing a washer somewhere in this? The videos of disassembly I saw do not mention it, but AUTOPTS sells the front collar with a washer on ebay.

Restoring 1952 Wilton Bullet 8400 Vise

I did not know that about the color changes. I think I actually scraped into some of that older original color under multiple other layers of paint. In all of the reading I have done that got me hooked on the Bullet, I never saw anything about original colors other than Verde Green being the...

Restoring 1952 Wilton Bullet 8400 Vise

Picked this up a few weeks back after reading about them. I do not need anything of this caliber, but I'm happy with the price I paid for it (off ebay) and how little I have invested into it. I ordered a set of new jaws from AutoPts, and they just came in today. when I received it, it was...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Will do! Thanks for the additional model name. I think a baby bullet mounted on a cigar box would look amazing on a desk (as I stare at an empty cigar box on the corner of my desk)

Those baby bullets are way too cool. Think it would make a good paper weight/ conversation piece on a desk. I'm not sure I'd have the self control to not break one if it was anything more than a show piece. I'm gonna need to get one of those!

Thank you for the pics Todd! Certainly did not mean to sidetrack this thread with my questions. Guess I'll be preparing a tub this week for a nice long soak.

Thank you both. I will give the purple power a go. When you say "soak" do you mean actual soak? a tub full of it with all the painted parts sitting in there? I'll replace all of the screws, and get a new set of jaws for it. I don't need another addiction, but fortunately this one takes up more...
