    Grounding and bonding requirements

Do yourself a favor...if you don't know where the drain lines under your slab or underground outside, get a digsafe, etc done. My buddy did something similar a couple years back and managed to drive a ground rod right thru the sewer line coming from his house.

Pump not working on hydronic system?

What is the static water pressure in the system when cold? You may be low on pressure which is why you are getting air in the system. A "normal" home system should be set around 12-15 PSi when cold and maybe move up to around 20 psi when hot. anything lower than 12 PSi can cause air in the system.

curing my slab - plan - input welcome

We flood cured my brothers several years ago. For the openings, we simply pulled the vapor barrier up high enough in front of the openings and backed it up with blocking to support it. Worked fine that way. This was the first time I have ever done this and all I can say is that it really made...

    Concentric Venting questions

The answer to #1 is this... concentric venting is not designed to cool or heat the gasses flowing thru them. It is done simply to provide one path out of the building for incoming and outgoing gas/air. The reason for the double wall center is so that you do not cool the flue gas to much. In a...

Thinking about ditching propane heater for oil furnace.

A 50K btu heater will run about 1.75 hrs on a gallon of propane. 50K is a VERY big heater for a garage. I would at least look into changing out that elbow assembly on the vent before you fire it up.

Help target my furnace issue? Shutting off

Flame\ignition can sometimes point to a dirty flame sensor. Without knowing the model # of the furnace, it can be a guessing game for us. As I mentioned though. I would start with the flame sensor/rod. Fairly easy to remove and clean. It will not look dirty but with the milivolts that is on it...

Can anyone help me figure how the bleed procedure on my heat?

Your tank is probably good if no water came out when you checked the pressure. If water came out then the bladder is ruptured. It sounds like your fill valve is not keeping enough water in the system. If you are truly at 0 PSI, you can shut off the system, remove the tank with little to no water...

    Modine PD-100 Burners won't fire.

There are two basic types of standing pilot burners in use. The first is a therm-COUPLE. This utilizes a probe that is in the pilot flame and has a small dia copper tube connected to it. The probe is ~1/8"-3/16" dia. The pilot flame heats the probe and due to dissimilar metals it generates a...
