What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nothing wrong at all with the 200X. Still have a 201XD in the box, pretty much the same but with the Nova pedal and rotating head torch. Tried the 203Xi which was digital scroll through menu. The 225 Xi only displays amps but I really like knobs for quick adjustment if one is off. All of the AHP...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Modified a cart for the new AHP 225Xi. Raised the middle shelf, cut a vent hole in the back and extended the bottom shelf to accept a cooler. All fun stuff.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put one of them Harbor Freight Vulcan welding carts together. Very impressed with the quality of this thing. I cut apart an old jack handle and some threaded rod to raise the top shelf up. Made room to stick a cooler in there and it looks so much better with the welder up higher.

Mechanics: Tips and tricks you've learned

On customer cars, always do a walk around especially with a new customer noting any damage on the car. Dents, missing mirrors things like that. Always road test before and after repairs. You can check things like warning lights, pulls, brake shimmy, noises. After your repairs things like if a...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Fired up the new AHP 203xi. I've had all versions of the Alphatig 200 series and this one is impressive. Used old cables to test but the new pedal and torch are a nice improvement. So far no smoke or fire but have never had a single problem with any of these.

    Tupperware generator shed

It appears by the numbers posted above and another good run today it will be just fine. With fresh air forced around it, top bottom and sides with wrapped exhaust and an outside exit it's not much hotter then sitting outside in stagnant air.:)

Yes it is a Suncast. 4'5"w x 2'9"d. Was going to build one but this worked out great.

    Tupperware generator shed

Outside air temp 84, Inside shaded shed 82.5 before start. Ran it 30 minutes. Hottest spot inside the box on a bracket 10" from the exhaust exit on fan side 111. A brace directly above the center of the generator 89. External engine temp above drain plug 140, intake vent side. It appears the fan...

    Tupperware generator shed

Thanks, I missed that thread in my search. I'll be able to lift the lid and stick a thermometer down through the insulation into the enclosure. Hopefully the next time the power goes out it won't be 110, but with all the airflow it should be ok.

    Tupperware generator shed

The air intake/filter is about 6 inches from the 14x18" vent. The 12" fan is more then sufficient to move air. It is totally enclosed with 1.5" Roxul high temp insulation. I don't foresee melting the enclosure and it will be as cool and quite as possible. Sitting in all day shade couldn't hurt...

    Tupperware generator shed

No not an invertor but that would of been nice. Wanted dual fuel and a higher wattage and invertor would of broke the bank. It has AVR for the TV and the whole shop has been powered up. Run 240V Tig, air compressor and ac, just not at the same time. Not sure what temp range it needs to run in to...

    Tupperware generator shed

Putting the final touches on an insulated enclosure. Need to insulate the doors and find a place for the fan switch box. Anxious to see how much the noise level drops.

Torsion Springs whole Door is Shut

Strange timing with this. Tommy is right more tension when the door is shut. Mine broke in the middle of the night Friday and scared the **** out of me. Got up and could not find what that huge bang was until morning when I tried to get the car out. New springs installed 2 hours ago.

    Tig weld question before purchase.

I'm waiting for these Aplha Tig 201XD to come in, May sometime. I've had all previous versions with zero failures. Currently have a Primeweld 225 and that also is an excellent choice. Have owned Everlast 255ext and the 205 pro. Both flawless. Long ago Miller dialarc all loaded up. My most...

Garage door remotes do not work when classic car is running.

I have the MSD 6AL on the Cobra. It works great but will not open the Liftmaster opener if I pull in going forward. The remote works just fine if it's between the engine compartment and the door. So if I back up to the door it works or I just pass by the driveway and hit the button.
