How Much Will I Save If I Buy a Jointer and Planar?

As others wrote, you'll save $0. IMO, those tools let you do other things. Personally, for a great many projects, I find 1" and 3/4" lumber to be grossly oversized. A large portion of my work is done with roughly 5/16" - 1/2" material.

$199 46 in. 9-Drawer Mobile Workbench with Solid Wood Top, Black

It was definitely $199 at my local Home Depot on Friday. I can't say if the online price was the same, though.

    Mechanix Gloves: BF sale

I like the Mpact 0.5. I use them as outside work gloves, which is mostly firewood work (felling, bucking, splitting, and lots of handling) as well as general landscaping stuff around the house. They've held up really well -- still in great shape after a year of use. My only complaint is that...

    Reciprocating Saw for Tree Roots

Nobody else has mentioned it, so I'll ask: are these dimensions correct? Five foot deep and 4 foot wide and fifty foot long? That is a serious task. I'm sure it could be done with a small- to medium-sized backhoe (such as attaches to a tractor) or a small mini excavator, but it's going to take...

Trusty-Cook, Yellow Hammers, 20% off list price

Do you offer spindle liners in yellow (or any of your other colors)? Not that I even know what spindle liners are for, just curious.

Trusty-Cook, Yellow Hammers, 20% off list price

Ok, I have a pretty complete set of Trusty-Cook hammers. I don't need any more. Some of mine I've only used once, in fact. So I'm only going to order three yellow ones. However, I still see a shipping cost even though I've gone past the $70 threshold. Halp? --- Update: my fault. The subtotal...

Dewalt 735 is always a favorite for a reasonable price.

Home depot deal of the day - nest 2nd Gen $169.99

Your screenshots are so small that they are impossibly hard to read, but I think I see where there's another line of text beneath the "Online Exclusive Special Buy of the Day" text. I don't see any rebate info; perhaps this is local to you? In the rebate screenshot I can kind of make out what I...

Trusty-Cook Blem Hammers, 50% off List Price

For home/general use I thought the #3 would be my go-to. Most of the time, however, I find the #4 to be a better choice. The hammer can do more of the work because of the extra weight, and (when necessary) using a lighter touch with the #4 is easier than using a heavy touch with the #3. That...

Trusty-Cook Blem Hammers, 50% off List Price

I'm curious what happens to cause such trouble and what they look like. Does the hammer get offset in the mold, and so the polyurethane comes out uneven and metal exposed? Other scenarios? (And while I'd like to know more, I also understand that a company might not want to point out flaws in its...

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2016

The 10" tool bags from BF are now down to $2.88 (from $5.88). I've been waiting for these to drop so I could ****** a bunch of them. They'll be good for odds and ends and even to have on-hand to give to someone that might need one.

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2016

Wow, there are a lot of us in CT! I visit the Manchester store, and occasionally Glastonbury. FWIW, I've never found a penny deal at either store, but haven't tried hard, either. I have found more deals at Glastonbury.

    Micro Knipex to small ?

I bought a 5" pliers wrench for the head size -- 4mm wide? Something like that. The length is too short, IMO. If I could get a 7" long pliers wrench with that tiny head, that's what I would have bought. Look at the head size when you pick which to buy.
