    Pocket multi tools

Leatherman makes great multi tools but think for your purposes a victorinox Swiss tool would serve you better. I own leatherman wave and sidekick and victorinox SwissTool. you can access all of the Swiss tool tools from the closed position. It’s very heavy duty tool and has both a wood saw and...

How important is country of origin to you?

Yes I try to buy USA when possible. As a diy homeowner buying tools is a value proposition. I have German, Japan and Swiss tools as well. And yes I do have some Taiwan, and Chinese tools that I bought back in my broke college days. In addition to trying buy USA made tools I also make effort...

Hart socket set. Junk or road kit worthy?

Well my sister has a hart ratchet set similar to this. Been Used to assemble furniture, bike maintenance, odds and ends. The sockets and ratchet are solid and get job done, bits are soft and don’t grip well but you can easily replace with better ones. I also don’t like how screwdriver feels in...

What makes a really good Toolbox?

This is a tough one to answer because not everyone has same requirements. A home diy’r different than technician. That said things that true for both are — drawer layout works for your needs — sized appropriately with ability to expand shouldn’t be packed to capacity or half empty.

What is a good basic tool set, and why?

Yeah few years ago I put together a basic kit for my brother as housewarming gift. I looked around and found some good sets but they are always missing something. So yeah better picking and choosing tools from different companies
