I used strip led lighting mounted under my upper cabinets over my workbench. I get them on amazon and it came with a remote that changes the colors and effects of the LEDs.

I shopped around quite a bit for maple butcher block for my workbench. I ended up getting mine from globalindustrial. They are nice and were way cheaper than anywhere else. I think they might be cheaper because it is comprised of smaller pieces of wood. You'll also want to pick up some bees wax...
