No. The way I set it up, power to the heater is never cut. All I am doing is enabling/disabling the thermostat. Same as if you just turned it all the way down. I did not want to lose the cool-down or over-heating protection, so this way that all stays intact. I just WiFi'd the thermostat control.

Yeah, I think the smaller version of the Fahrenheat is the same. You would need a contactor to handle the switching on that unit. The version I have makes it pretty easy.

Ah, missed that in the previous post. I did pull a common from the box up into the heater. The common (white wire seen in pic), L1, and a ground go to the female 110 plug.

That's it! Yeah, the Wemo is made by Belkin. You can get them in big box stores for $25 or $30. App is free and actually pretty good.

The relay only has to handle 120v, which it is designed for. I just inserted it between the thermostat and the contactor to turn the thermostat on/off.

    WiFi controlled Fahrenheat FUH724

Hi all. I thought some in this group might find this entertaining. I have a Fahrenheat FUH724 heater (@7,500 watts) mounted high on my shop ceiling and was climbing a ladder to turn the thermostat off. Once it cooled off I would kill the breaker for good measure. A bit of a pain, to say the...
