Adding bathroom with no drain nearby but some interesting optoins

Yea the issue with a bedroom is that the county records in most places have # of bedrooms and sq footage, so if you market the house with different info it's possible that it could be noticed. We have nearly 800 sq feet of finished space that I probably wouldn't mention in the listing if we were...

Adding bathroom with no drain nearby but some interesting optoins

Lucky indeed. It was right where I wanted it! It's already buried and nobody needs to know how it got there. I don't even know how it got there :) I'm not shitting in the storm drain, no. It's tied into the sewer existing sewer. I've heard many people say things like this, i.e. you have to...

Rough ins are done and the pad is poured. Getting closer!

It drains and definitely goes into the main, we can see and even hear it.

Advice anchoring a shed over a concrete slab, please

Are you suggesting going through the wood, rather than using a bracket? Otherwise why an 18 inch SDS bit??

Adding bathroom with no drain nearby but some interesting optoins

Thanks everyone for the helpful input, and all the unhelpful input, too I was all set to plan the long downhill run to tie in to the guest house. But first I had to lift the shed, dig out underneath, fix up a retaining wall, pour a new pad and lower it. Now, I already knew that the previous...

Advice anchoring a shed over a concrete slab, please

Yea that might be the way to go. I might want to put a floor in, so I was hoping to avoid obstructions on the floor like bolts and brackets, but it might be unavoidable. I see a lot of drop in anchors that can be pretty low profile - maybe use those add a few extra to keep it strong.

Advice anchoring a shed over a concrete slab, please

It will really be hard to move this shed again. And in the end, it's a small shed so this solution just needs to be good enough so I'm hoping to find a workaround. Here are a couple of pics

Advice anchoring a shed over a concrete slab, please

Hi all - It's been a while since I visited this forum but I've always gotten great input here! Can anyone advise on this one? Next to my garage is a 10x7 shed made of stud/frame/shingles and even a small window and skylight. Very nifty - whoever framed up the garage seems to have knocked out...

Adding bathroom with no drain nearby but some interesting optoins

The reason is, simply put, that my plumbing experience is limited to installing faucets and toilet, etc. :) There is quite a grade on the 80 ft run and I wasn't sure if that would be an issue. The drain in the guest house appears to be very old, iron looking pipe maybe 6 inches in diameter...

Adding bathroom with no drain nearby but some interesting optoins

Hi all - Always some interesting and useful advice around here, so I wanted to share my current garage challenge. I'd like to add a bathroom (toilet/sink only) to my 18x18 workspace. Since I don't want to lose any space, I'm thinking about doing this in the small shed beside the garage, which...

Polyspartic floor smell: 3rd time doing this and I'm nervous

Update: we decided to push forward with drywall/paint in the garage, so the floor is currently covered with plastic, but it's not tightly taped or sealed. So, it can still off gas a bit during this time. Obviously it would best if the room was kept wide open while the floor cured, but I learned...

Polyspartic floor smell: 3rd time doing this and I'm nervous

Hi all - Well, some of you may recall my huge debacle when I had a floor installed and they didn't let the first coat cure enough which led to lingering smell, months of stressful dealings, and eventually replaced floor and small claims court. The first time around (thread here...

How much spray foam? The excruciating question!

Hi all - I did a 2 car garage conversion in Denver a few years ago, and now I'm doing another one here in California (I've just moved back to the Bay Area.). So, I am loving this because I'm doing the exact same plan to convert my new house's garage into an office - including spray foam for...

New epoxy floor: can't get rid of fumes!!! Help!

In a nutshell, I paid to have the floor ground off and a new one put down. Then I took the vendor to small claims and got a full recovery. My only regret was to have waited so long. see the other thread where this was discussed: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=366475
