I have a catalog page of your vise. From 1927. E.W. Fulton was involved. In 1927, I think the company name would have been Lowville Vise Company. (Lowville, NY).
That looks like a Massey Harris vise. Somebody cleaned one up and it is posted on FBMP.

I think this is made by Milwaukee Tool and Equipment Co. Look on the spread sheet for 807 under Milwaukee. The model number on the label does not match the VXX marking on the vise.
I have never seen a catalog page for a 208 or 208-1/2 Combo from Columbian. They only went to 206. The 206 was 160 lbs. Not sure I see "1/2" marking on the side. Sure that is not a 206 ?
Fabrex. We have them in Canada. Fabrex spun out its parent company in 1959 or so. Fabrex became part of Record in 1961. Fabrex Tools Ltd was a subsidiary of Record. That is actually a Record patent swivel base on it. I have that same vise on the swivel but in red.
I thought the model was "Nodular" not "Modular". We have them here in Ontario, Canada. Made by Schulz from Brazil, which started in 1963. Here is a photo of a 8" Nodular that I have. The company does not make vises anymore. Focused on compressors now.
akasrick, I think the Bonney 00 is a clamp-on vise, not the fixed base vise as shown or with a wing nut as a handle. That being said, it is still a neat looking little vise !
225bob (Robert), welcome to GJ !
Nicely shapely vise. I was quite surprised of the very little material at the back end of the fixed jaw tower above the rail. If you were banging away vertically on something in the jaws, that force is supported at the front with the support under the jaw but...
Matt, where are you located ? It looks like UK vises (Record, Woden, Parkinson, Paramo) where the long base is to support the quick release rail that runs underneath it. Like a Record 25.
