I strongly suspect this problem has to do with the "enhanced" security of the new opener/controls. The new Chamberlain unit with 'yellow button' is "Security+ 2.0". The older Liftmaster (purple learn button) is "315mhz Security+". Sorry, these are Chamberlain's terms - I don't mean to sound...
