    Link for power tool jigs?

I can't remember if I saw it here, or just in one of my general tool related google searches, but a long time ago I found a site that had plans for making simple jigs that did things like turn a power saw into a table saw, etc. I can't seem to find it again, anyone have a good link to something...

    Weatherproofing walls?

I agree, but right now the T&G is separating and moisture is getting into the garage anyway, because it was already old and not maintained when I got the place. I figure that when it finally gets bad enough, I will just replace the T&G with plywood. I've already had to do that with the rear wall.

    Weatherproofing walls?

Sorry, located in Brooklyn, NY. I will try and get a pic up this week, basically yes the T&G is outside paneling, and the inside is just studs and crosspieces, which creates basically a box pattern all over the garage. Since I don't want to panel over the studs, I think the only solution is to...

    Weatherproofing walls?

My garage walls are basically tongue-in groove paneling, probably 1/8 inch thick and old and with holes, etc. The previous owner put up pieces of corrugated cardboard as a means of keeping out the elements, but as you might suspect, it doesn't work very well and the cardboard is falling to...

Anyone ever heard of an earth drain?

Thanks, I checked it out. Looks about right for what I'm going to need to do.

Anyone ever heard of an earth drain?

Ha ha, yeah, if I was looking for a good way to get rid of the dirt in the yard I found it.

Anyone ever heard of an earth drain?

Just looked it up, dry well is what it is. Seems simple enough to either fix or replace, it seems like the problem is the drain screen holes are too large, which is letting dirt and debris get in and clog everything up. May be as eas as digging out the dirt part and just putting in a smaller...

Anyone ever heard of an earth drain?

Sounds like maybe the term should be dry well, that is how it was explained to me, that it just slowly goes back into the ground. I was thinking of a french drain, but the garage is set in the back of the yard, which is not a huge yard by non-NY standards, but it's 30 feet from the house and...

Anyone ever heard of an earth drain?

There is a drain right in front of my garage that is pretty much clogged, and every time it rains it floods the driveway and the garage. I had roto roter out to look at it and he said that it is an "earth drain", not connected to the sewer system, and that I'd have to bust up the concrete to...

    Encapsulating paint on garage walls?

It's just comng off in flakes. We bought our house from a company that flips them, and they did a really cheapo renovation job, and the house also sat for about 2 years, and they didn't really do any maintenance. There is paint underneath, probably from the original owners, but it looks really...

    Encapsulating paint on garage walls?

All of this helps alot, especially the peel stop. That will work inside the house too, I have a room where they used cheap paint before me and it's all peeling off.

    Encapsulating paint on garage walls?

Damn, you just took all the frosting off my cupcake. If they are garbage I will have to pass, how much does a quality one cost? Any brands that are good?

    Encapsulating paint on garage walls?

Those aren't bad prices. Maybe I can sell the wife on one because I could also do the siding of the house and the concrete with one. It will definitely **** if I have to scrape paint by hand, unless they sell a 10 ft wide scraper, ha ha.

    Encapsulating paint on garage walls?

I don't have access to a pressure washer, unfortunately, looks like a weekend with my nose to the grindstone. As long as I get the loose stuff off though, I should be alright, right? I don't need to scrape the paint that isn't flakey or loose, right? Thanks

Shoring up old wood for hanging cabinets, etc.

Great ideas. The french cleat thing sounds like the right solution. I'm gonna give the wood a smack when I get home, and I will probably end up running some vertical 2x4s and some horizontal ones (better safe than sorry I think). I'm pretty sure that the wood is not rotted out, just old, so...
