My impression is that certain components are required before enphase allows you to commission the units and only after the installer is certified by enphase. ie control box unless you are talking about 3 generations older stuff

The generator has a 45A breaker. There is a "emergency load" panel that is in between the generator and the main panel. I think the 50A breaker in the main panel is protecting the wires to the emergency panel when it's fed by the grid. Until we can get the correct 50A breaker for the surge...
