My impression is that certain components are required before enphase allows you to commission the units and only after the installer is certified by enphase. ie control box unless you are talking about 3 generations older stuff

The generator has a 45A breaker. There is a "emergency load" panel that is in between the generator and the main panel. I think the 50A breaker in the main panel is protecting the wires to the emergency panel when it's fed by the grid. Until we can get the correct 50A breaker for the surge...

Interestingly there is a big soot stain on the outside of the enclosure. There are the remnants of small wires scabbed into the main breaker lugs. I think there was a surge protector wired into the line side previously. Maybe this illustrates both sides of the coin. You don't want the SP...

Unless you have an RV, that thing is incongruent with your nice place. Add lean-to to both sides and make it a monitor barn profile. Or barter/trade it away. How much is 50% of new? If you can take it down yourself, 75% of new might be in the cards?
