Those streamliners look kind of like a Littlestown no. 191

    SK/Great Star is alright

I broke a Proto 3/8 ratchet, the mechanism not the handle or anything. I emailed SBD asking for a rebuild kit, they just sent me a whole new ratchet. I know apples and oranges, but I think not having a sku for rebuild kit and not having to mess with warranty are possible reasons for this change...

    Torx Plus set

Does Lowe's still offer the Wiha bit sets? I would rather use a quality name for torx and not a cheapie.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I have a few of the guide bar style vise, none of them look threaded. I would guess they're all press fit. I've only had one apart- one of those green import jobbies with red jaw towers. It was missing both guides when I got it, I made replacements out of brass and pressed them in with an arbor...

    Spreading the Bonney affliction!

Thank you for the info. My wording was bad...I will not be stripping this one. Just cleaning it. I like to leave vises "as found", I only strip them if they have 20 coats of paint or need other work. This is a neat little vise. I like it. Edit: looks like mine is marked on the swivel base plate...

    Spreading the Bonney affliction!

Seeing that other real nice Bonney vise reminded me of this. I haven't stripped the paint but I do not see any markings. I'm almost certain that it is a Bonney no. 250 improved farmer's, or garage vise, depending on the year of the ad. 2-1/2" jaws, opens 3-1/2", weight 10 lbs complete with all...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

It's cracked at the swivel jaw. Unless you are a good welder, it's a parts vise.

Dont like New Snap On Ratchets F80 T72 etc

I have a few dual 80 Snap-Ons. I understand why they get the hype. Not a big fan of vintage Snap-On ratchets, truth be told. If I'm going to use a vintage ratchet, I would prefer a Wright.

    Tightening a keyed chuck...

I was taught to use all 3 holes to tighten the chuck. Like Jack said, idk how much of a difference it makes in reality. Just how I do it.

    Klein Returning to Lowe’s?

Last time i looked in the electrical tool aisle at Lowe's, it was mostly Southwire, some Ideal, and 10" Knipex Cobras. More selection is always good.
