Thank you to everyone that replied. I have seen the inside and it doesn't look in the best of condition so I'm going to just replace it with the suggested newer style that goes into the tank. Thanks again.

Hello all, I have a 1967 Champion 2-stage 3hp 80 gallon tank. compressor with a part attached on the inlet side of the tank that I do not know what's purpose is. The very bottom has a very large hex plug that is leaking. I am wondering if I can delete it and just have the pressure relief...
