    Painting an Old Toolbox

How much trouble am I looking at to repaint, including a color change, a box like this? Am I crazy? How much of a nightmare is it to get it apart and do prep? I don’t have any sort of automotive paint set up. Would it be absolutely impossible trying to do this with rattle cans? It’s a case of...

    What about fiberglass handles?

    Painting Garden Tool Handles

Many many years ago my grandfather painted the handles of all of his gardening tools red. He said it made it easier to see where they were in the neighborhood when people borrowed them. I have had some shovels and a rake sitting in a corner that need new handles. I thought about painting them...

    Reelcraft Oil Reel for Air

No it won’t have any paint in this line. I’ve gotten to where I use electric impacts and even an inflator for topping off tires. I’m not sure how much use it will see, but at the initial price I was tempted.

    Reelcraft Oil Reel for Air

I can get one of these for $50. Reelcraft Reel It was used for oil. I’d like one for air. Is that possible or realistic? Swap the hose out maybe? Just trying to figure out if it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

    277 Volt Fluorescent Light Fixtures

It’s 277 volt which I don’t have. I’m pretty sure they aren’t multi voltage which is why they are available. I don’t think the ballast bypass bulbs will work, but it looks like I can remove the ballast and buy appropriate bulbs. I’m going to pick them up in the morning.

    277 Volt Fluorescent Light Fixtures

They are definitely old. It sounds like it may be doable though. I appreciate it.

    277 Volt Fluorescent Light Fixtures

They are Lithonia DM 2 32 277 TUBIHP if that helps

    277 Volt Fluorescent Light Fixtures

I can get a bunch of new old stock 277 volt fixtures. Would it be worth picking them up? How hard and/or expensive to switch to 120 LED? More trouble than it’s worth?

    3 Phase Wiring

A 12 or 16” jointer is $2-3000 to get an old heavily built but 3 phase machine. New they start at $8,000 and go up very quickly. Planer, lathe, bandsaw, air compressor, etc are all similar. VFD’s are a solution that some use. As are motor swaps, but I was trying to have options. I am...

    3 Phase Wiring

I am about to run the wiring for my basement wood shop. I am going to run 220 to several machines. One day it is possible that I could get some 3 phase equipment and maybe run it off of a phase converter. Would it be possible to run lines in preparation for that equipment? I know almost...

    Spigot Before PRV???

I’m thinking about a separate PRV set at 80 for the sprinklers and hose bibs

    Spigot Before PRV???

    I’ve noticed this as well!

    Spigot Before PRV???

Maybe the shrub nozzles, but the rotators go up into the 60’s on the chart. Then when you factor in friction loss 80 psi from the house is about right for me.

    Spigot Before PRV???

My issue is that I’m only getting 40 psi, and the GPM’s through 1/2 at that pressure makes car washing a pain.
