All my sae & metric universal sockets are snap on. my universal impact sae are mac & my metric are snap on. I don"t have any 1/4" universal impact & just a few 1/2". In 45 years never broke any universal impact but have broken chrome a couple of times

i have snap on in 1/4" & 3/8" standard & metric in regular,semi, deep. usually my go to sockets are the semi deep i love them
