Anyone decided against radiant then regretted it?

A third to half the building will be used to store farm equipment: 58hp tractor, zero-turn mower, Polaris Ranger, 26' gooseneck horse trailer w/the F350 that pulls it, etc.. The rest of it will be a workshop for cars, bikes or whatever. I considered just building a separate building with a...

Yeah, I was planning on it. Just seems like a good idea.

Anyone decided against radiant then regretted it?

Thank you for the reply CNGsaves. It will be storage for the most part not daily fab work. One end will store a horse trailer and the tractor, the rest will be a car or two and some bikes with which I will tinker. No natural gas, we're going with a large LP tank for the garage and the house...

Anyone decided against radiant then regretted it?

I'm finalizing plans for a 48x64 pole building garage and I'm debating whether or not to go radiant in the floor. Location is just south west of St. Louis, MO so winters are typically mild with a few days of bitter cold occasionally. LP gas will be used for heat and the building will be...

starting a nut or bolt in a tight place

As a kid nearly 30 years ago, I worked for a mechanic in a 1 bay shop on a used car lot. He taught me a trick with 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive. A little dab in a socket, on a screwdriver tip, in an open end wrench, or even on your fingertips will hold a nut, bolt screw, washer, whatever until you...

WTB: Snap on KRA4820 end cabinet (side box)

I'm looking for a KRA4820 end cabinet Snap-On Red like the picture below. (paint code 73504, not the Candy Red) Please let me know if you have something in good shape. I'm located in St. Louis so something located in the midwest is preferred.

    Any regrets?

Go wider and deeper if possible. It's amazing how a larger vehicle like a truck or full size SUV will consume garage space. It's nice to have storage or room for equipment when larger vehicles are present. Plan your lighting and electrical including switches. You need 220v for compressors...

    Craftsman Tool Box Owners

Here ya go. The close up is distorted by the camera lens but shows some detail of the drawers. The drawers are the same gauge and construction as larger drawers for their chests which is more than enough for these smaller drawers. Hope this helps.

    Craftsman Tool Box Owners

I have a pair of these in Red. I can't help with the picture you're looking for since I put them on the top of my workbench instead on my box. They're actually very well made, sturdy and the perfect size for small things.

Where to mount air compressor filter/dryer?

That is awesome evintho. The 45's make it look kind of artsy.

    Shop Tricks

Most used trick in my box is 3M weather strip adhesive. Temporarily glues fasteners to tools (or anything) to temporarily hold 'em while starting threads... or a nail to a hammer head so that you can hold your board and get the first one in with one hand.

    Compressor question...

Good idea on a progression / upgrade plan Charlie. You can also just sell the half worn-out unit on Craigslist and upgrade in a few years. Just as a side note, you can post "Wanted" ads on Craigslist and have potential sellers contact you. I listed ads seeking a 5HP, 2-stage with a 60 or 80...

    Is this "shill bidding"?

I've used www.ezsniper.com for years. I just put in the max I'm willing to pay and it takes care of the bid for me. My success rate is about 80%. I recently had one where ezsniper couldn't bid my amount because of the minimum bid increment issue. I try to pick obscure values that end in .75...

    Wrench Storage

Nice job ZRX61... what brand are those? Also, do they have the magnetic or adhesive tape bottoms?

    Wrench Storage

Does anyone know of wrench organizers that will fit the 1-7/8" height drawers in a KRA box? I bought the 15 wrench organizers from Ernst but they're too tall. Even if I cut them down to about 12 wrenches they'll still be too tall. Anyone have a 12-15 wrench holder in these narrow height...
