I want to go metric - anyone other Americans done this

Hi, I use metric calipers and micrometers fine so there is at least one. eality is that it depends on what you are most familiar with that comes naturally. Here in New Zealalnd, a persons height is normally in feet, distance in kilometers, and pressure in PSI. Aviation will always be in...

Made in China is inferior because of inferior workers or reduced specifications?

Had a big problem with this with firearms safes in New Zealand. Certain types of license require 6mm thick steel safe. The prototype for approval was 6mm, the rest ere 4 or 5 mm.

    Gearwrench box's

Soooo, im from New Zealand and unfortunately we are not blessed with the wide range of tools and boxes compared to those in the north. I am looking at getting a 7-8 draw box (my sheds only 1.3x3.3 meters). Snap on is waaaaaay outside of my price range, and a lot of the local stuff I can tell...

    "Metric" countries question

drives are imperial, commonly 3/8 and 1/2. Bits are metric, eg 8-32 mm. although im in a 'metric country' New Zealand - there is still a mix. height of a person is typically feet, but weight is kg. Everything in aviation everywhere is imperial, roading and cars are exclusively metric bar rim...

    Snap-On doesn't want new customers.

Interesting. That's exactly what I did here in New Zealand. I wonder if it is a regional policy or if I was an exception (I did spend nearly 5 grand in my first purchase however) EDIT- actually it was slightly different. I called the head office for my city who gave me the driver details for my...
