Follow up on Frost free faucet

Turned out to be a quick, easy fix. Used a torch and a couple of pipe wrenches to get the job done in less than 30 minutes. Turned out that this was an 8' unit.

    Replacing frost free head

Post 2 and the OP has not responded since yet has logged in after his posting..... I sent the same photos to Woodford and got a response back yesterday morning from Eagle Mountain in Colorado Springs. The replacement head was part #RK-W34-HA and was $150. Should have it installed over the...

    Replacing frost free head

You can use so much JB Weld! I cannot find a manufacture name on this handle. Installed about 20 years ago and I don't remember the depth. Can I turn the water source off, remove the head, cap the pipe and braze the crack? Otherwise, it will cost me a untold bucks to get a mini X to dig it up.

    Extending an RV hanger/garage

Bought a new motor home that was 9' longer than my existing RV hanger. Cantilever 2X8 boards are out 5' at each end with 11' in on the metal beams. Sides will be gray canvas. Ends are open so I can drive through and turn around in the field so the motor home is always point out and ready to go.

    Main bedroom addition

We bought a house and did 2 remodels. Both remodels took into consideration ADA requirements. Did the same thing in a previous house that made it desirable in a down market. Prices of home elevators have come down. Weigh the costs of an elevator installation vs. a whole room/bath addition and...

Best idea for building a shop that can be moved

See my avatar. A couple of 20' containers and a cover that has overhead storage. Post #10 shows a better way, but lacks the overhead storage.

    Internet in the shop

Read my post again...the codes to redo the system are unavailable and the Starlink was purchased for my RV. BTW, Starlink allows you to pause the service when you're not using it.

    Internet in the shop

I have a set up that allowed internet in the house, shop and guest house. The shop system went south several years ago and the guy who had the codes left town. Did without until I purchased a Starlink Mini for my RV. Now I use the Mini on a 4' post in an outdoor umbrella stand next to the...

Chinese Two Post Lifts, possible purchase

I bought a US made Backyard Buddy four post lift 26 years ago. Was able to replace the pullys, shafts and cables for $1300 a couple of months ago. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant in buying an off brand with no assurance of getting the correct replacement parts

New life for my old Backyard Buddy

Bought a BYB in '98 or '99 at a Goodguys show in Scottsdale AZ for $1800 and broke a cable a couple of months ago. Finally got a hold of someone at Real Garage Life and for $1321 (including freight) got new cables, pullys and pully shafts with Zerk fittings to keep everything lubed. It's...

Anyone build a garage near a utility pole? Trying to figure out how close I can get...

I have neighbors to the south of me that undergrounded power at a cost of almost $100,000. It crosses my property above ground. I wanted to put a riding arena on the property and was told that if I wanted to pay to underground the power, I could get a county permit. Not worth the extra cost.
