Has Harbor Freight Lost Its Marbles?

Between releasing multiple, overlapping lines of cordless power tools and increased prices easily rivaling quality brands, I think Harbor Freight has completely lost track of what made them so successful. I bring this up, because I just discovered the following new items... 1/2" 90-Tooth Torque...

HF going a bit high end with Bauer?

For what it's worth (to those discussing the name), Bauer is German for "farmer"; Bau is also German for "construction." Perhaps those are what led to the decision to go with the Bauer name?

Why Mid-Length Sockets? Are they needed?

I've got some Craftsman mid-length sockets; they've certainly come in handy in random scenarios, but they're not essential by any means. They're sort of like 3/8" drive tools, in that they aren't necessary, but also offer a broad spectrum of use-case coverage.

Snap-On Tools VS Harbor Freight Tool Shootout.

Before I began transitioning, my maximum deadlift was 405lbs. Guess I wasn't a mouse! :)

Can't get through 3/16" galvanized with hf step bit

I'm well aware of what a step bit is, I was referring more generally to twist bits. Clearly I should have been clear to avoid this sort of response.

Can't get through 3/16" galvanized with hf step bit

Make sure to drill slow, and put on the torque, really push the bit into the metal (not too hard so as to break it), and use cutting oil. I've used an impact for drilling through my car's metal one time, it was a reinforced part and was quite thick, but an impact really helped to be honest.

Why did you choose your tool brand?

I definitely don't have a single go-to brand, but some of my favorites for certain tools are as follows... Sockets - Proto (although I have a very full set of US Craftsman sockets) Wrenches - Proto (ASD, also love Dewalt's ratcheting wrenches) Ratchets - 1/4" Proto, 3/8" Steelman Cobra, 1/2"...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

The two stores I frequent just ask me to read off the code, easiest for everyone that way! Makes it real easy for me to just keep the coupons on my phone and have them handy as is necessary.

    Auto carpet extractor

I know this is an old thread, but it tends to remain relevant so I wanted to chime in! What I do is this: - Vacuum carpet, use a brush to agitate and get out more dirt - Dilute some Purple Power, and spray all over - Steam the entire carpet (I use the Harbor Freight McCullough steamer) - Vacuum...

Quality Tool Chests Proto vs Snap on?

Get the Proto! I personally have a 40" Proto Stack, and at work we have Snap-On, Matco, Gladiator and Harbor Freight boxes. My Proto easily has the best construction and feel in my opinion. Also a far better value as opposed to tool truck brands.
