Fabrication of my Race Trailer (enclosed)

Trailer looks nice so far. You have a nice, clean and functional workshop. I like it!

how do you get a seized bearing out :(

Nope. Not that I am aware of. Cut it. Pry but not on the seat, which can be difficult sometimes. Careful with the cutting, it's easy to do as much bad as good! Something likes brass drift can be worth it's weight in gold when it comes to beating on bearings.

    Bad Ast Build Thread

That crimp terminal looks to be a bit large for your wire. No way you should be able to fold it in like that. The hex dies should squash it like you said, but the original fit before squashing on to your wire should be almost tight. If the wire can swim around in the crimp terminal before you...

IonH, I'm not sure what bad_idea used but I'd bet either redheads or drop-ins. Probably drop-ins so that if you remove the tugger/winch you don't have threaded studs sticking up to catch a toe on. http://www.hilti.com/holcom/page/module/product/prca_catnavigation.jsf?nodeId=-10812 Or drop in...

Dealing with gap when welding square tube

Totally agree exo. I've since been really working at not stopping early on the corners. That pic actually perfectly captured the problem! The technique stuff you mentioned is spot on too. I am realizing that it's not all about always making the same exact movement. The ability to watch the...

Dealing with gap when welding square tube

Some good advice above. This is 2x2x.180, the gap is not huge on this size, but it didn't work out right the first time I did it because I aimed the electrode at the center of the gap thinking that starting the weld down deep would be the way. I have learned since that I like dragging/pulling...

SatisTraction, I had plans for the stand but they were quite vague. The only aspect of it that I sketched out was the geometry of the ram vs. the bender arm, it is a fairly conservative angle I ended up at and in hindsight I sort of wish I would have set up a more aggressive push angle for more...

    Must have garage/shop essentials

Two things are most important for me. 1 is organization. Keep stuff stowed and have a spot for everything I own. Very simple. I can be working on something, oh I need such and such now, and bam it's in it's spot waiting for me to use it. So much better then oh **** where's that 14" beater with...

Metalhead212121, so far I have only bent one small piece on it. I have tube dies, 1.75x5.5 and 1.5x4.5, they are amazingly machined and should be for what they cost, but I only had a small piece of 1 1/4" pipe, I couldn't resist and popped it in and put a small kick on it. Even with no air just...

Put a few final touches on the bender/notcher cart. I am happy with how it turned out. Still have a few more small things like the air line, a small chip tray under the hole saw area, a holster for the drill when it's not in use and maybe even a small magnetic mount tray for a tape measure and...

    Unexplained power usage?

No mention of air conditioning? Heating? New building without either? Water cooler? Printer? Is the spike every day at 2am or did you leave something plugged in on just one occasion?

Remember Me, I Asked For Help? Price Quoted, I'm In Sticker Shock

The guy was trying to get one over on you. Shady business owners/operators would step on a baby's neck for a buck. I value my time, very much so, but unless your description of the scope of work is missing some critical element his quote is absurd. Get the books. Read. Learn. Buy a few...
