    Who makes good flush cutters?

I mostly use the Lindstrom 8140s for cutting zip ties. They can be found on eBay cheap. If buying new, I recommend Klein or Hakko flush cutters.

Picked up some NOS Klein Scissors at the swap meet for $10. I can't pass up USA made Klein tools when I see them cheap.

1/4" square drive to 1/4" hex(Apex) adapter recommendations

I would use the Wera version in your use case. Shown on a 1/4 drive sliding breaker.

Any tools you buy NEW and immediate upgrade or modify or polish or whatever??

I do the same upgrade on drills. Remove the plastic POS and replace it with a Rohm. The last one I did was on a Milwaukee m12 Drill. I have them on my 20v and 12v DeWalt drills as well.

Best tool you've ever found in the street

Found this Milwaukee Fuel impact in the middle of an intersection. Ordered some new plastics for it and it's been back in action since.

Nut Drivers (new or old) show them here

Old Gen Snap-On sets work great. I don't use them a ton, but they do come in handy in certain applications. And loaded in a custom tool roll.

I found a crazy closeout deal at Grainger for Apex 3/8 drive 1/4" bit sockets. $1.16 a piece...I ordered 20 of them. I'll order bits for them as needed, but I couldn't pass that up.

With all the talk about Apex bits lately, I was searching eBay and came across an non-descriptive "Apex bit / socket set" lot for cheap. I recognized the part number on the larger 8mm bit and took a chance that it was a metric set. Here is what showed up. 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and a random...

    Vise Handles

Go to McMaster and grab the length that you need of 17-4PH steel rod, a few 3-16 stainless shaft collars and some large diameter O-rings. Put everything together as shown in the photos, and boom, custom handle.

I picked up a Utica TS30 torque screwdriver on eBay. I like the look...kind of reminds me of a mini lightsaber. 6-30in/lbs.
