And actually I do have the old M12 3/8 FUEL impact too. (2454-20) Its always been a nice tool but really is only rated @112 ftlbs I believe, so there really no comparison power wise to the two other impacts being asked about. I used it for a lot of small engine work and is more than adequate...

Either wrench should be up for the chore for removal of general engine bay fasteners etc. I have both the Gen1 M18 1/2" compact wrench and a 3/8" Stubby. And the new M18 compact impact would great to replace what I have IMO :D In reality under the hood I find I use the 3/8" Fuel ratchet...
