Finally got a set of Armstrong Allen sockets. I didn't know the case was going to be so huge! It's a solid 3" thick as well.

Good to hear about the extensions, they were basically free because of the deal, wasn't sure about their quality, but figured I'd give them a shot.

Took advantage of the Tekton sale on Amazon and ordered their composite ratchets, and a set of 1/4" extensions for the home box.

SWEET! I was waiting for a sale to buy their 1/2" impact socket sets, looks like it's time to pull the trigger.

Just wanted to point out that this looks like it is not a one time use only promotion. I placed an order for all three of the composite ratchets and a set of 1/4" extensions, which put me at $46, got the $10 off. After that order, I put a set of deep well 1/2" impact sockets in the cart...

Use them all the time, but I do electrical and electronics work, where they seem to be used a little more than in the automotive world. Great for tightening terminal lugs, ground screws, stand-offs, etc.

I think the idea is that since it's a larger fastener, it needs more torque, so the handle for the larger fastener has more surface area for your hand to make contact with, allowing you to apply more force. That's the best I can come up with.

Finally picked up a stubby 3/8" ratchet today, as well as two 1/2" drive sockets to fill out the home box, and some Knipex duck bills.

Went back today to the same store, got another three Visegrips, took $3 off each, so you're not locked to only three for this sale. Found out that they can't/won't warranty Craftsman sockets without an Ace receipt. Which ***** for me, since I can't find a Sears with x/32" sockets, I'm probably...
