After finding myself with 3 of those 887s I did the same as Joop on one of them. Works great for what it is.

Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, eBay, local welding shop...Haun Welding.

Basically nothing there that you can't do with any angle grinder, just position the guard appropriately and rest it against the work piece.

Just buy a name brand like Bend Pak, then all you have to do is decide 2 post, 4 post, symetric/parallel or asymetric. I just got a price of ~$2900 delivered for a 10,000# 2 post asymetric. I can't imagine you're going to do much better than that with a no name.

Firebrick43, I don't mean to be argumentative or otherwise confrontational, but it's my opinion that you're overstating the amount of adjustment necessary with single stage regulators. I'm willing to concede that I don't do much fine welding or brazing, though I've gas welded truck seat frames...

Were the batteries fresh out of the fridge when you tried to charge them? Li-ons won't charge if too cold or too hot.

I'll second this statement. I have both of these as well as the Milwaukee 3/8s and they are awesome tools. The 2763 is a freaking beast, both in size and capacity. The 2861 is powerful enough to almost make you give up your 1/2 " air wrench, and compact enough to fit in a lot of tight spaces...

What you can get parts for, including tips, is the best brand of torch. All the others become junk when you can't obtain parts. In my part of the world Victor is King and Harris is Prince. Smith is the Earl of something...notable, but not a big player. One nice feature of the Harris cutting...
