DOM tubing went out of round when welding

This is on an SCCA GTL tube frame racing car. The front sway bar (a Speedway splined bar) is held by a piece of 1.75" .120 wall tubing the width of the front of the chassis. The sway bar has an OD of .125". It's located by oilite flanged bushings at either end that are 1.25" ID and 1.5" OD...

    Really Oddball Fitting

I need a fitting that has 3/4 BSPP swivel male on one end, a smooth 90 deg bend in the middle and a JIC/AN -12 male at the other end. It should not stick out too far from the face of the port. I currently have an adapter and 90 deg hose end and this sticks out too car and fouls other pieces...

    Craftsman Aluminum Racing Jack

Chat feature doesn't work anymore. I called them and the u-joint kit comes with the valve and valve seal, not the piston and seal. Mine lasted five years or so before it started leaking so much that it made me nervous. I kept it, mostly because I always hoped that Sears would come to their...

    Help with a TO bearing

Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I've got an SCCA GTLite race car that uses a Nachi 40trk39-1 bearing as the TO bearing. I've been searching high and low for a replacement. I've guessed at it's application and ordered several cross references, and everything that I get is...

HF 1.5 Ton Aluminum Floor Jack?

I have this jack. One serious issue with it is that it only raises the car to 14 3/4". Often (not always) this is not high enough to get a jack stand under the car. On my tube frame race car which uses a jack pin, it's does not raise it enough. If you're in the Philly area and want one...

It's at least 2.5 years. Maybe a bit more. I bought it from a brick and mortar store (maybe Sears - not sure). -Kyle

    impact wrench

I'm not doubting that the 2135 "can" work properly. What I'm (we're) saying is that it appears that some of them are not working properly. I'm guessing that they are defective units. FWIW: I've spoken to other folks who have bought these guns and returned them because they were weak. I can...

    impact wrench

I have the IR 2135QTIMAX also, and have the same feeling about it's power. I had an old SO (late 70s-early 80s) and it was actually stronger than the 2135QTIMAX. I've got a very similar setup to pipsters with 3/8" hose all the way to the quick disconnect, which is a 1/4". I've run it straight...

    Oil-free Shop Air Compressor Location

My oil-less craftsman compressor has lived it's entire 15 year life in a Rubbermaid shed outside of my garage because of the noise. It's never minded the cold. It needed a top end rebuild last year (about $40 in parts), but other than that, it's been flawless. I don't see last years repair as...

Craft paper faced insulation in ceiling - fire hazard

Just to bring this thread full circle. I decided to go with the tin roofing (garage lining) solution. I like the idea of no finishing and the light weight nature of it. Plus it looks cool! DuraPanel isn't available back east. But I found a place that makes an equivalent...

Craft paper faced insulation in ceiling - fire hazard

It looks like durapanel is only available in the midwest. I'm in Philly. Does anyone know if there is an east coast equivalent? -Kyle
