I poured a slab under my deck that is 12x16x4 then framed and used deck boards as sheathing. I placed metal roofing under the deck with a 2-3" slope to an eavestrough to collect the water. This keeps it water proof and is a great storage area for lawnmower, bikes etc. without taking up any yard...
