My contribution to this thread (hope this counts as vintage, as I just picked up this "leatherette" Gerstner and don't know much about it, but it's in great condition):

I suspect that the bare wood versions are more desired, but I like it! Between GR and Kazoo, in lake effect snow country.

Wound up on here while researching a Gerstner tool chest I just picked up, and figured out I'd registered here almost five years ago without ever posting. Sooo, here I am. I'm not a fine craftsman of any sort, but can generally figure out which end of a tool to hang onto, and have done a fair...
