    Garage roof insulation questions

A lot to respond to in that post, thanks for all the info. The structure is a little weird. It was originally plans for a smaller shed that I expanded to a larger 16x22 structure. It was permitted and inspected. I had the higher collar ties at one point. The inspector didn't like the...

    Garage roof insulation questions

Thanks! The many quote from that article for others is... If you want to use just one type of insulation in unvented rafter bays, you are limited to spray polyurethane foam. Another possibility, of course, is to build your roof with structural insulated panels (SIPs). The code restrictions on...

Help with some shed foundation ideas

I was thinking I would do pier foundation style. So I would get 4x4 posts and dig down holes 12", maybe more, I'm in Georgia, so frost line minimum is 12", then 6" wide. Then use quickcrete in the holes to create the piers. I was thinking I would leave about 2" of post sticking out of ground...

Help with some shed foundation ideas

I have a gravel driveway into my backyard and I've decided I want to add a shed to it for now. Eventually I plan to build a garage, but I have lots more trees to take down and some other projects I have to do first, so it will be a few years before I get to the garage. You will see in my...
