    Hollands vise no 115

Well this is a very interesting thread I stumbled upon! I was trying to find more info about why the Hollands 113 combination vise was listed as “Hough’s Combination vise.” I can’t add the picture of the catalog page referring to the vise as “Hough’s” for some reason. But I managed to find a...

    Vise Info Thread

Fierljeppen, I can’t thank you enough for your expertise! You can always manage to find something. That’s really cool that this vise is most likely from the late 1890’s. There was absolutely something in the water too 😂 Some really cool style and design came out of that town. I think its...

I couldn’t agree more and don’t recall many vises at all with design cast into it like this. Joe’s lightning vise is what came to mind when I saw this one but his really is far more intricate with the design. Funny though as they were both made in Weedsport, NY

It is a No. 3 with 4” jaws, 4” max opening, and weighs in at 22 lbs. It also has the Simpson Quick Action patent...

Hey Jay, so this is just BLO applied with dust left on the vise after wire wheeling which tends to give the BLO a darker color to it. My rags start white and end up a dark gray when all is said and done. Vintage Reed cast iron always seems to come out great with BLO! The red emblem and gold...

Twagler: your Rae 203 is awesome! That’s in great shape for sure and i love the remnants of the original sticker it looks like. I’m curious… are there 2 swivel lock downs on your 203? royudc: I love the look of your Rae 204. They certainly do look like some stout strong vises. I love how it...

It’s taken me 14 months to finally get to but man am I glad with how this turned out. Reed 214S filers vise with replaceable jaws and the awesome oval logo. No original paint to save on this one unfortunately. Date stamped 12/76 and hands down one of my all time favorite vises. I’ll be bolting...

that definitely looks like it is made by Columbian to me. I’d guess it’s a 3 1/2” (maybe 4”) wide jaw rebadged Columbian 603 1/2

Thanks, it took some serious patience, time, and soft touch with a wire wheel in a drill! Was psyched to see so much of the original paint intact

Cleaned up this awesome Reed 403 1/2R with replaceable jaws. It is date stamped 12/77 and was able to salvage most of the original paint. I also just painted the 2 rows of lettering in silver as they did from the factory. This vise looked like a smurf!

Here is an early Hockey puck nose 5180 (103 1/2R) Heritage Reedsman date stamped 12/46. I absolutely love these heritage badge Reedsmen. They are def hard to find. This one was completely seized and rusted in place and has def seen some use over the years but cleaned up well
