Heavy Duty Rubber Floor Mats to cover garage floor?

In preparation for winter, I was thinking of getting a "containment" mat to stop the mess in the garage from spreading all over. Or would the rubber mat be a good solution as long as I keep cleaning up after the slush drops? I am looking at the Auto Floor Guard and Park Smart products.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Zeke.....Tom is Tom Kistler who won that year. I sadly, was second. I made up for it by winning with my ZIP 250cc Rotax in 1986 in Portland. That is a great Kart track. We used the entire front dragstrip and shutdown area unlike the "sissy" Indy cars that had the chicane at the end of the...

Another "what to do with my garage floor" thread.

My garage floor in my recently purchased home is old, cracked and has many pock marks on the surface. It seems my only option is to do a Racedeck type floor and cover it up as the prep involved to tile or epoxy would be excessive. I have a couple of concerns: 1. Wear and tear with jacks and...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

In 1985 while we had our International Karting Federation Grand Nationals at Willow, we were rudely awaken by the double sonic boom of the space shuttle coming in to Edwards....one of the coolest things I have seen as we watched it circle from the North. Hope you make it to the 1:25's! From...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Jack, Just saw your 911 video of Willow Springs. Yikes, it brought back some good memories. I raced dual engined laydown karts, a 250cc SuperKart and Formula Mazda. I raced there from 1980 to 1990. I think the fastest we ever went was in the high 1:25's with the SuperKart. We don't have the...

    Wiring 220v Welder

I have it hooked up and powered on. I am not an expert welder yet and am going to school at Washtenaw Community College. I have done a little tig last semester, but this semester I will be in tig class twice a week. I am sure the HTP will do just fine on the thin stuff, it is very adjustable...

Hey Thomas, been away for awhile. I lost my job and now am in school learning, the correct way, to weld. Santa brought me a HTP Invertig 221 and I am hooking it up tomorrow. It has been a rough six months, but I am trying to make it a positive thing. I missed this thread and will have to go...

    Wiring 220v Welder

More of a sanity check really. The manual says it will draw 44 amps when welding stick at 200 amps. So the 50 amp breaker should be fine. The machine power cord has 10 gauge and I am using 6 gauge from the breaker to the outlet which will only be 2 feet away from the box.

    Wiring 220v Welder

Santa brought a new HTP Invertig 221 and now I want to make sure I wire it up correctly...don't want to break my new toy before I use it. It has a 3 wire cord, YELLOW/GREEN is ground, BLUE is hot and BROWN is hot. I bought a 50 amp rated plug and socket that says it is for a welder as opposed...

We have a 50# weight like that and it is used to calibrate the four scales we use to check the weights of our Road Race Go Karts after we race. If someone is disqualified and complains that the scales are reading too light, we pop that bad boy on each scale to show the scales are dead on.

Not wanting to sound stupid....is there such a thing as "clear" powder coat. You could do the detail work in paint that hopefully would not be affected by the baking process????????

That would have been a great test question.
