Sorry, correction, the TORSION is the correct one, not HANDLE. The Handle one is a long skiny spring that goes under the lifting arm (I guess to pull it down)

I know this is a couple months old thread but I wanted to thank Hiball, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'm going to measure mine tonight and order one. My craftsman 3 Ton did the same thing :-( Been driving me crazy for a while now.
