Heat pump icing up. Can low airflow through furnace cause this?

Can lowered airflow cause icing on the outside unit? Definitely yes!! Check your filter also. I’d leave that door open and see if that helps. Dirty air filters can cause icing. You should be able to hear the reversing valve kicking in when going from a/c to heat mode.

    Ball Valve Disassembly

I’ve taken lots of those apart for recycling purposes. Put one end in a bench vice, heat it up with a propane torch & use a 12” crescent wrench to turn it..

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

My dirty Sears/Poulan chainsaw with a loose chain. I had to take it apart to replace the crankshaft. The threaded end that holds on the clutch broke off.Ordered a used crankshaft on eBay but it was the wrong one, mine is the one on the bottom with the broken piece next to it. I finally got the...

Why not spray it with automotive paint sealer first or epoxy primer. I really like Rustoleum Professional!! I’ve used it on inner fenders, lower control arms, rear ends an it even lived on a radiator, I thought it wouldn’t last but It did an kept it’s gloss. Comes in rattle can, quarts, gallons...

Does it makes sense to sand with an air tool?

My compressor is smaller than yours, only 45 gals with a 2 hp motor. I do have one orbital sander but my compressor runs constantly. Air ratchets, nailers work fine but any kind of sanders are a no go, plus electric sanders have more torque.

How can I learn to weld without school ?

Welding on a back hoe bucket is going to need some serious amps to do it. I started welding better once I got an auto darkening helmet. I always look for good penetration. When it looks like your about ready to burn a hole through the metal and you stop an take a look an it’s filled in that’s...

    Water softener?

I have some test strips or had some test strips, don’t know where they are now but If I member right they read in the middle of the hardness scale. I’ve already had to vacuum out our hot water tank twice in the last 10 years. Cold water I can’t do anything about but a least the hot water can be...

    Water softener?

I need to get a water softener for our house. The house doesn’t have a loop plumbed in. What I want to do is plumb one into the water heater but I’m not sure of the size I would need. There only 2 of use in our house so I don’t think a large water softener is needed. Any suggestions Would be...
