It bolts on. I bolted it together but with the wieght of the box alone i thinks its unnecessarry. It took 4 of us to lift it.

Would you apply undercoat and rust proof a new snap on tool box? Is this even necessary? Im getting a new toolbox next week and was wondering. Just want to preserve the box as long as I can. Thanks for the opinions in advance!!

Hey thanks for the input! Can you post a pic of your box? How long have you owned it? What Im asking is is it easy to clean? That you dont have to be so gentle? How is the finish after having it for a while? Like I said, its an everyday box and I dont want to be tippy toeing around the box?

I was thinking the same thing. But the gloss black box with silver trim bothers me. Gloss black is nice though.
