Good tarps for covering things outdoors

What's good tarp that sun, cold, and UV won't disintegrate in record time? Ideally one that can be bought on Amazon; many places don't like to ship to Alaska. It doesn't get super hot here but UV can be brutal with clear skies and 20-hour sunny days. The lowest low of the year can hit -30f...

What's a good impact wrench that won't break the bank?

Or having your entire shop piped for air, including outside outlets :) If you have a sand blaster, use your air to clean the shop, clean things before painting, use it for painting, and inflate things, just to mention uses from the top of my head, air excels. Then there is the fact that a mid...

Looking for a high quality parts cleaner.

Honestly the technology behind a parts cleaner is rather mundane; a pump and the real estate to work the parts. Cheap ones are flimsy, good ones use thicker metal, brand whoring cost you a lot without giving you much else in return (Snap on, I'm looking at you). If you are not in a hurry your...

What's a good impact wrench that won't break the bank?

Thank you folks. I ended up picking an Air Cat 1000-HT, which claims a loosening torque of 1,000 ft-lbs and a working torque range of 200-800. I have no idea how real-life those numbers are but it should be more than enough for my needs. So I had a kissing cousin of this guy, the one Jack_k...

What's a good impact wrench that won't break the bank?

I have the cheap Campbell Hausfeld impact wrench, the one so cheap that the branding is a sticker. I'm once again looking at it fail to do its job... What's a good bang for the buck on these? I want to buy happiness but within reason.

    Who's the grandaddy of the 30" 3-in-1 Bender/roller/shear?

There are a very few companies that have decided to break the mold (quite literally) but for the most part it looks like over many decades you have the exact same model with just different colors and stickers. The only significant difference seems to be the sticker price. My guess is that as...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

Pretty much. I call it a raceway just because it seems to be the most descriptive way to do it. I'm making it big enough so I can have cable separators and thus avoid them getting bundled, for no other reason than an overabundance of caution. And yes, good old Romex cabling. It is going about...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

My (poor) understanding is that the "raceway" is both short (9') and spacious enough not to require de-rating 9"x4" or so. It is basically a 1/2"~3/4" plywood boxed channel near the ceiling to cover the wires. As usual I could be wrong. There are 19 circuits going into this panel but the 220v...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

I'm talking only ground to a bar. Black/white spliced separately. If that makes sense.

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

Rated for 30 amp 600 volts. There is a version rated for 50 amp 600 volts. Hey, I'm asking if it is doable. The run to the new location is about 9 feet long. Common ground is what they are right not at the original box so I'm just trying to figure out the better way to patch the ground to the...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

The "raceway" is sub 10 feet long, box, oversize (9"x4"), with minimal fill, vented. For a while I'm going to put a temperature sensor to monitor what's going on.

Roger. At least it would be only one line. Can the rest be wired through this block?

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

Follow up question; for the splice box, are these rail blocks kosher instead of the standard twist screw caps? They are rated to 10agw/30 amps, the highest amperage I'm using is 20 amps (there is one 30amp 220v circuit which should be 15 amps per leg). If I do the hot splicing with these and...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

My question is more of real life problem, not whether the outcome could be unfathomable in a theoretical way. I have the breakers in front of me, I'm measuring the thickness of the powered bar and it is the same, so the clamps on both breakers grip it with the same strength. It is not like...

Looking at my options for a replacement electrical panel.

Besides the technicality, is there a real possible issue? Bar thickness is the same, clamping grips the same, fit is the same, electric load is the same, the only difference seems to be that Siemens engineered newer boxes not to fully fit square D.
