Wanted: silversmith/jeweler stakes for raising vessels

Especially looking for the T stakes with one cylindrical and one rounded end, but could use a straight mushroom/ball stake too. If anyone has a lead on used ones at a decent price, I'd appreciate it.

Haskins-Strand "Speed Flex" early flex shaft grinder. Are these worth having, and how does the chuck work?

I can't find any info about this thing. If anyone has used one, please advise what size attachments it can take and if it's worth an hour round trip and $25. I already have air die grinders and a couple Foredom style pendant motors, but could find a task to assign something like this if they...

Will this Masterforce 60 gal air compressor be OK for running die grinders? Is there a better option around this price range ($575 w/ rebate)?

Would I need a serious air drying setup like a system of copper lines on the wall if I wanted to use this compressor with a torch? I need to do some silver soldering, and wondering if a compressed air-propane or natural gas torch would be the cheapest option to run; it looks like oxy-acetylene...

Chicago Pneumatic die grinder diagnosis: Is this broken snap ring causing this clamp nut to loosen?

Link should work now. Are shims the blades/vanes in the rotor that come in a typical rebuild kit?

Chicago Pneumatic die grinder diagnosis: Is this broken snap ring causing this clamp nut to loosen?

Here's another air tool I would like to fix, a Dotco 10-12 series, this is my only low speed mini die grinder so I'm thinking it would be good for 3" bristle discs. The shaft in the handle spins smoothly but the one in the head has a hitch to it (it doesn't engage at all under power). It looks...

What's the type of adapter for a grease gun you're supposed to use on the little ball fittings on air tools? I thought it would be one like this but it's too big, is it the sharp needle type tip?

Isn't this the correct flange? Only thing is it doesn't come with the reducer bushings, but there are a bunch available. Why did you abandon the lower grits, do they remove excessive material even on steel?

Do you all find the radial bristle brushes work best on 1800 or 3600 rpm motors, and how much power do you like behind them? I'm looking for another grinder or buffer to run a couple of them. This one popped up locally for $75, but the specs look maybe suspect to me, 2hp bench grinder that runs...

@macgee and other 6" bristle brush users, do you have any experience with the 80 grit equivalent yellow or 50 grit green wheels? What are your impressions if so? Those two are available on Amazon for $50 if anyone else wants them...

That light green is the 1 micron, right? Are you using this setup for polishing, and what's the prep stage you're using before the 400 grit? I've been curious about how that works, do you have any pics of the finish you're getting with 400 + 1 micron? Especially interested in how it looks on...

    rust removal

Great info, thanks, and that is some pretty old metal! And yeah I already have them in all the smaller sizes, I've been using the mini ones on flex shaft rotary tools for years and recently started running the 2" and 3" on die grinders when I added air to the garage. Definitely my favorite...

    rust removal

What prices are people paying these days for the 6" radial bristle brushes? I recently set up a 400 grit a friend who was going out of business had given me on one of my old bench lathes, it's great for a pre-polish type finish but what I really need is the red 220. Just don't want to pay $100...

Chicago Pneumatic die grinder diagnosis: Is this broken snap ring causing this clamp nut to loosen?

The external ones get too wide at the flared ends, I don't think that slot has the clearance for them. After looking through McMaster Carr's options I think the right style is "inverted external" retaining ring.
