I figured I go with the 200a line and the bigger panel. As far as the rest goes I'll leave that up to the electrician. As I'm sure you can tell I'm not an electrician, the only real thing I know about electricity is that if you screw up it hurts. I'm just trying to get some general knowledge...

Thanks for answer. I know panel and other stuff cost wise will increase. I would rather go bigger in the beginning then have to add later. I have been offered a choice between running from house panel or putting in a new electrical service not sure which way to go any suggestions?

Thanks for answer. Having a electrican do the work, and want some idea of cost before hand. Shop will have welders and compressors plus other equipment. For now just wondering about difference in cost to run a 200 line vs 100 line. Panels and outlets and other stuff will come at a later date.

Building a new 30x40 metal bldg about 25ft from house main panel how much difference is the cost to run a 200 amp line to bldg vs 100 amp. Is bigger better?

Thanks to all who answered my question even tho I did put it in 2 places. Lighting a 30x40 metal bldg is a lot more complicated then just screwing in a couple of light bulbs. I am going to use LED.

Building 30x40x12 metal bldg have poor eyesight so which would be better t5 or t8 led? Am concerned about glare if any.
