Yeah, I'm an idiot. The pump pulley is 13 3/4" and the motor pulley is 5.5". I'm not sure where I got the first numbers, somewhere on my sheet of calculations.
So it looks like it's been running at 1380 RPMs.
A 1725 motor would put it at 690.
Is there a problem with going with a 2.75"...
Sorry about that, I guess I don't understand the terminology. The motor pulley (what I call a drive pulley?) is 5" and the compressor pump flywheel (what I called the pump pulley?) has a 9" pulley.
Does that make sense or am I still not writing it correctly?
I'm heading home now, I'll...
I know what the pump RPM is:
"The compressor has a 5" drive pulley and the pump has a 9" pulley, giving the pump 1916 RPM, well over double what the pump should be run at if I'm reading the above info correctly."
My questions are:
Am I reading the info correctly?
If so, what could have been...
Be sure that all the wiring in the circuit is at least 12 gauge before putting in a 20 amp breaker. I think that usually the larges possible breaker for the wiring is already installed.
Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a very long time and have found a lot of great information. I was hoping to get some help with a very specific question about a compressor I bought. Any help or input would be very appreciated.
I bought an old Speedaire compressor from an auto mechanic...

Very durable and just under $50. Much, much better than my old cheap Walgreen's one.
Longest guide is very short though. If you got this set you'd also probably want to get the longer set of guides for about $15...
