    The vintage Blackhawk Thread

found this locally. I'm pretty sure it's an early thirties Blackhawk S-1 Curb jack. The ad is out of a 1933 catalog

Your best bet is to 'google' it. Sometimes might find sales brochures on eBay. You can also try searching googles books for old sales brochures, or google patent for original patent info and diagram.

Looks just like my Ausco. The Acorn on the handle is the give away. the dust pan cover over the piston just doesn't have the "Ausco" embossing. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64850&referrerid=54724

    Walker Turner Drill Press

Those bearings were specially made for WT, and are no longer available, New. If you browse the OWWM site, there are multiple discussions on replacing the bearings. OWWM Classifieds and eBay usually have used bearings for sale.

    Best air hose - ?

I'm in for a free sample too... As previously stated, a hose that does everything would be perfect, but since we don't live in a perfect world, each person's application will differ. Personally, I have a shop where I mix uses between Automotive, painting, metal working, and woodworking, both...

    Metal Eating Cold Chisels???

did you ever think about putting them on the grinder and giving them a new cutting edge.... the steel in old tools is much better than the steel in todays tools, most of which is made overseas.

Who else has a forklift in the shop? Do you consider it a tool?

That's not a forklift....there are no forks... Its an overhead rail crane....and I'd hate to be sitting in the drivers seat when that cable let loose. It looks like the large black triangular structure on the front might be some sort of safety device against hydraulic piston failure. When the...

    Ingersoll-Rand model 223 air impact

for $3 or $4 it might have been worth it.... anything over a 1" size on sockets I use 3/4" drive sockets...with an adapter on my 1/2" gun...just because I never bought an adapter for the 1" gun....

    Ingersoll-Rand model 223 air impact

IR replacement parts are easy to find, as well as CP..... However, a sheared anvil is probably something to shy away from. Most guns come with a standard or extended anvil option. both are hardened tool steel and hard to break....if it does break, there are probably more things inside the gun...

    Ingersoll-Rand model 223 air impact

they are good guns, and if it works, for $5 you can't go wrong... invest another $5 and get the vinyl boot for it....it helps when you drop it accidentally... I need to post a picture of the 1" IR impact gun that someone GAVE me. it had a broken trigger which cost me $10 to replace about 15...
