The thing is, it doesn't have a stretching action - when you press the lever, it pushes out in opposite directions. If you centered the tool over a seam, it would separate it when you pushed on the lever.
I found this tool in an old storeroom and initially thought it was a carpet stretcher - but it doesn't stretch...it appears to some kind of a seam separator.
It has numbers on it, but no brand name - I haven't been able to find anything similar on the internet. It's appx 11" long.

Can anyone provide information on a Blackhawk DT-2661 Thread Chaser? I can't find anything on the internet... The one I have is in excellent condition and has 6 thread dies included.
The Harbor Freight does look similar. However, the one I have seems to be made of forged steel vs cast iron (I have a cast iron vise and the metal properties are totally different.). I'll try to clean it up and see what I can find...
I've recently acquired an old vise and cannot find any identifying marks on it. Any tips on how to determine brand/model/year? It has a 5" jaw and best-guess weight is about 75lbs. I want to refurbish it and would like to find instructions/parts, etc.
