Like the two posters above me, I remove the glass ball. I use a file. For 6013 the esab surewelds that are blue cant be beat. They weld better with much less slag inclusions.

I replaced both springs on the duck boat trailer. I had done a rebuild on it a few years back but didnt do springs. Some nuts gave up to the impact others to a cutoff wheel and grinder. The corrosion was severe from 26 years of salt marsh use. Then I repacked the bearings on both axles...
