Racedeck Flooring after 4 1/2 years

I'm in metro Washington DC, they LOVE to salt the roads here even when there is very little snow. So I usually do a mid-winter quick clean to get the sand/salt off using a push broom and some water/soap, then a second one (like in the above photo) in spring. Other than that just blow it out...

Racedeck Flooring after 4 1/2 years

Spring is finally arriving and that means it's time to give my Racedeck flooring a quick scrub with soap and water and a rinse to get all the winter crud off it. I just use a push broom, a little soap and water from the hose, then a leaf blower to dry it. I installed this August 2014, so it's...

    Racedeck tuffshield vs regular

I'm sold on the Tuffshield, myself. It looks SO much better and is super-easy to keep clean. The standard floor looks a little dull. I'm a neatnik though, and clean up spills promptly. I think it depends more on your garage lifestyle...if you are proud of your garage and want it to looked...

My Racedeck floor after two years of use

My only concern with race deck is what happens with large fluid spills? Engine oil, etc. Doesn't it all seep down between the gaps in the tiles and make it impossible to clean? The seams are really tight, I have had plenty of spills on it, you just wipe it up, not much drama to it. Actually...

My Racedeck floor after two years of use

In August 2014 my total floor cost to cover a 3-Bay Garage including edging was $ 2,465 for 508 tiles of the TUFF SHIELD, or $ 3.99 per tile, shipped. Prices may have gone up since then. I put the floor down in one morning by myself, it was quite fast and easy to do. Here's a photo when...

    Edges and Sides with Racedeck?

Don't put your Racedeck floor hard to the edge, leave a gap because it WILL expand and contract with the seasons. If you install the floor too tight, its going to buckle in the summer when humidity is high. You won't noticed the gap on the edges after a few weeks. ( I painted the first 4" of my...

My Racedeck floor after two years of use

Two years ago I put down a Racedeck brand floor in my garage, and while people gush about them as soon as they install them, you don't hear as much feedback when they age. I'm pretty impressed with how this floor has held up and gone through working on cars and motorcycles, had plenty of...

Any regrets with black race deck floors

My partially black Race Deck after my wife pulled her salt-encrusted Audi out of the garage, this is about as dirty as my floor gets...I like the black, would do it again.

    Racedeck and Motorcycles

Not really an issue. Can I see where the kickstand is on the floor? Yes. Does it leave a bad indent? No. I think it all depends on how perfect you want it to remain. If its all for show, then put a rubber pad under the kickstand. If its a working garage, it won't make enough of a mark to...

    RaceDeck - Winter Pics

All high-sheen, diamond plate. This is where my wife parks her Audi, and we have snow and chemicals on the roads right now. Looks good, but had I to do it over I'd have put a couple of rows of drain tiles where you see the drip residue. I didn't originally because I didn't want small parts...

How's Your Race Deck Tiles Holding Up?

Mine are holding up great. Installed in August 2014. I'd buy them again in a minute...only change I would make is to install the drainage tiles under my wife's SUV for two rows under each set of tire tracks. She comes in with snow and ice on her car and it needs a place to flow to when it...

    Steps inside the garge

Commercial vinyl treads, held down with adhesive. Not slick at all, wear like iron. Lots of colors, trim to fit on the depth. Be sure to buy the adhesive. Mine are dirty from winter, but they look good when cleaned up! I bought mine from here...

    RaceDeck Flooring Sale Tuesday

Here are my bikes, always on the centers. No damage to the Racedeck so far.

    RaceDeck Flooring Sale Tuesday

None so far, but its early in the game. I have a 750 lb BMW K1600GTL and a 530LB BMW R1200GS and neither appear to be damaging the tiles when on the centerstands. A sidestand might exert more pressure, however as the whole weight of the bike is on a single contact point.

    RaceDeck Flooring Sale Tuesday

I didn't go with the free-flow because I'm always working on a car or motorcycle, and I can see all sorts of critical little parts dropping down in there. If you don't work on your own stuff though, the free-flow will keep the water off the surface on rainy/snowy days.
