    Motor Identification Help

That's what I thought. Doing a Google image search returned a few motors that looked very similar and were 5hp. I guess now I need a Reliant 720 with no motor and I'll be set.

    Motor Identification Help

I searched NN720-10 and got a lot of dust collector hits. Dang, I was hoping for a 5hp! For $15 at Restore I can't complain.

    Motor Identification Help

I found this motor but it has no tag or stamping of any kind. I don't know what I have and hope someone can ID. It came from TrendLine Inc in 1998 (see receipt image) which was a wood working supply house as far as I can tell. The images will show what I've got. The only marks are the labels...

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

Got it. I talked to the guy selling it, he said the same thing. He said he used 4" pvc for conduit. I think he's a farmer so much bigger machinez to run than i ever will. I had to ask because the price was right. I'll keep watching selling sites for a deal, otherwise when it comes time to...

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

It isn't worth it to pay an electrician a thousand or more by the time I get charged for wire, panel, breakers. I'll make do with 110V. If I can be sure the wire and installation of all components meets code or is better, I will pull it and let a pro connect to the panels. I'm not going to burn...

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

Got it. I wondered about that, how workable it is. In this case I wouldn't necessarily need to fit it into any receptacles. I have to go from a circuit breaker in the main panel to a subpanel in the garage. Once I get it in the garage I can switch to a more reasonable gauge. I am just trying to...

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

Isn't bigger (thicker gauge) better? #3 would be overkill, but better than running too small. Right?

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

Also, it's not 7 strands, but 7 insulated #3 wires, as far as I can tell. See the photo.

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

Its a few remnants totalling 200 ft, more than I need. It was used to power a pole shed. Would you use it?

I may have misspoke. See photos of the cable in a post I just made.

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

I found a 90 ft remnant of 3 AWG THW 600V E13111 copper cable (see pics). It appears to have 7 wires. It's been sitting in a shed, the seller used it to run power to a pole building. I can get it for less than a dollar a foot. I'm assuming #3 is more than enough to meet my needs, powering a...

Wire Gauge to Add 220V to Garage?

But *if* I put in a sub-panel I need grounds rods per code? I found some 3/3 wire for less than a dollar a foot that I think I'm going to grab. If I run that then I'd probably want a subpanel. I have lights, receptacles on two circuits, a garage door opener all wired separately in the garage...
