    Exhaust fan suggestions

Sounds like I need about 140 CFM to achieve 2.5 ACH. Looking at the Broan 509. 6.5 Sones at full blast. It sounds like this would be my best bet for a low wall installation, which may be best in a garage. That said, I would have a lot more options for quieter fans, i.e. the panasonic that moves...

    Exhaust fan suggestions

How is the Panasonic working out? At 70cfm, that fan makes me leery that it simply wouldn't move enough air for my 17x22 garage. It looks like that would change out my air every 48 minutes, which might be fine for ventilating the sort of chronic garage smells which we all find comforting but...

Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump For My New Garage?

I have, I think, the 9000 BTU Mitsu unit in my 22x17 attached garage. insulated 2x4 on the outer wall, other 2 walls are to the house. no insulation in attic yet (working on electrical and low voltage I want run up there first) and insulated garage door. It does great here in Central OH so far...

What to do with a dozen crates

You could definitely do a cabinet of slide-in shelves. I've never liked milk crates. Too bulky to deal with, and the shape does't ever seem to be quite right for what I want to store in them. And they don't nest if you want to stack/store them.

    My Tiny Garage

I need to get a car in there when I'm not working on a project. Completely agree about the outlets and # of plugs. I think I can put one outlet of 4 plugs them where I plan on having the opening for my stool. Another a little further down that wall where I will have my rollaway bench. Then on...

    My Tiny Garage

Thanks for the thoughts. For the little ridge my present thought was to build a small platform for the toolbox so that it can be all the way back against the wall (once I acquire said toolbox). For my cabinet, I might be able to cut out the back edge to fit over the lip. Long term, my plan is...

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

bczygan, Thanks for the vote of confidence! I definitely appreciate the use of a subpanel for future expansion. That said, if I put one in, it will be buried behind a bunch of gear(shh, don't tell anyone), so getting to it if I trip a breaker will be a pain. Plus, I honestly can't forsee a...

    Tool storage alternatives- Here's Mine

This is absolutely dope. Great idea. I'll have to think about incorporating something similar to this somewhere.

Looking for Homemade Cabinet ideas for Rubbermaid/plastic totes

I've built two similar systems out of 2x4s/2x2s and plywood to hold our insane number of bins/totes. I've never tried to cover them over though. My concern is that they have to be so deep to enclose a tote that they take up even more garage space by the time I build them out far enough for...

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

I'm not gonna lie. Welding sounds fun. Ugh. Maybe I should just have him do a 240 run too and be done with it.

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

There is definitely a table saw in my future. Lord only knows where I will put/store it. Do most run on 240? Or only the 'good' ones? I suppose if I really wanted to save money, I could have a sub-panel put in and then I could wire everything else myself fairly safely given that I could turn...

Welcome from another newbie! I see a ton of potential in that space.

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

The thought had crossed my mind, especially after reading a bit more here. The panel is in the basement, so it has to thread up to the attic and then across to over the garage. Once you get up to the attic it isn't too bad. I bet the whole run could be 35-45 feet depending on where to put the...

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

My garage currently has only one outlet, on the worst wall, and I think it is on the same circuit as the dining room. At any rate, I'm having an electrician out to install a generator transfer switch, and I am thinking about having him give me a quote to also wire the garage, but I want to make...
