I usually blast for about an hour daily to remove mill scale off of my cnc plasma cut parts prior to welding and/or powder coating.
The media I use is iron silicate AKA copper slag with grain sizes ranging from 0.2 to 1 mm so quite coarse media.
It is more abrasive than glass bead and I blast...
How do you guys deal with hazing of your blasting cabinet's viewing window?
I currently have a 6mm thick tempered glass as my main panel but I stuck a plastic protection film to prevent the glass from fogging up.
The problem though is I need to change it every hour of blasting and that's not a...
I am in the process of building a sand blasting cabinet, but have been having issues with the abrasives getting sucked into the extraction fan.
The fan is too powerful for my cabinet, so I got a VFD to slow down the extraction rate so that only the dust gets sucked in, but I'm still having a...
I think you're right, there is a sweet spot with these guns and 120 psi seems to be way above it.
I'd be better off blasting at 90 psi with a larger airjet and nozzle combo for faster cleaning rates.
Been having trouble getting the triggerless syphon blasting gun to work how I want it to in my DIY cabinet.
The issue is with media suction. At first, no matter how far in or out I adjusted the airjet with respect to the gun's body, I could not get the media to feed at all.
At first I thought...
For those of you who may face the same problem in the future, I ended up getting a 5 cm thick plate of Hardox 450 measuring 60 cm x 40 cm and under max tonnage, I am only getting a 0.5 mm deflection at the middle with 0 plastic deformation which is an excellent result and I couldn't be more...
Not a bolster table, just a steel plate to press thing onto so It shouldn't have a hole in the middle or any T slots for tooling.
I've attached a picture of what the press table looks like. As you can see, there is a large air gap and the steel plate I need will have to sit on the edges and...
I need to buy a piece of steel measuring around 35 cm in width and 60 cm in length to be used as a table to press onto with the full 100 metric tons of force.
There is a 31 cm air gap between the two steel ledges and each of the ledges is around 25 mm thick.
My question is the following: What...
I'm glad you posted this as I never knew about Wixey.
Seems like the only model that would suit my needs is the WR365 which you own.
Not sure why they don't put a V groove in all their angle gauges as I find it a must have feature.
Also, does the display rotate when placed upside down?
My...
