I will have to wait till I get home to see your pics. Our company net blocks all of Photo buckets pics along with a ton of others. Glad I inspired you to post. People back home just don’t have a clue on what goes on over here behind scenes. And they should.
I spent 9 months on KAF, I hated it. Too much dust, smells bad, and to many incoming. The FOB life is so much better in my opinion. Ya the firefighters have it pretty easy and get paid good.
Found out that they are closing this FOB. I will be transferring to a new one in a month. I just received these pictures from someone I know that is already there. Little more primitive than what we have here. Looks like I have my work cut out for me.
Surprising there is a lot of water underground, so they use wells. We have two wells on this FOB that supply us with water for showers and stuff like that. We use bottled water to drink.
Ya we only get rain 3 month out of the year, and it’s not much. Ya every time I go back to the states, it’s the WOW factor with all the colors other than brown and tan.
We have Vector control on the FOB that does, at least the snakes. We take care of the creepy crawlies our self’s. Just about everything over here is known to be deadly and aggressive in one way or another.
One of the BBQs we had with the military motor pool guy and girls next door to us. All the sparkles you see in the photos is the dust that is constantly in the air.
