so when do the safety locks engage? are they always disengaged except in the situation where a cable breaks? if i route the cable on the other side of the locks it will hold back the safety lock and not engage, maybe when a cable breaks they will lockinto place?

The safety lock in the pic came preassembled i did not put it together.

thanks so much for the reply. The "manual" safety locks where you connect the rods is not a problem, they are setup and work well. it is the safety lock on the inside of the lift that are not connected to the safety linkage that I don't understand how they disengage.

good day all I recently bought and setup a danmar d7 4post lift, the only thing left is to figure out how it goes down! the safety locks click into place as it goes up but to bring it down there is nothing available to disengage them. I know I have to raise the lift a bit before lowering but...
