Running lights and a couple outlets from essentially the house to the barns. Replacing existing to the 'old' barn, then new run to newer barn to add lights and an outlet. Would love to go underground, but septic line and a couple unknowns are in the way. In the end, overhead will be easier...

    Post size....

Hi All, Need to run 90' overhead triplex wire. Have a telephone pole on one end. This run goes to an old barn as need to replace. Old run was 150' to another pole. I'm shortening the run, but would like to use pressure treated post instead. 6x6x16 is what I'm thinking. Will that be enough to...

Vehicle Oil Changes: Are you a DIY'er?

On the gas vehicles, I do it myself. I hate having anyone touch my cars. BUT, the diesel I have done as my diesel guy is just too cheap.

Advice for a move to Seattle

Curious... did you look at this one? If you did, you noted the train runs right behind you. Maybe not a big deal unless they have to blow their horns, which they do about a 1/4 mile from you. You will hear it and it is a busy rail corridor. That river - would not worry about the Snohomish River...

Insurance underwriter here.... The car will not be covered by your HO policy, you need a separate policy. If you are restoring it - look for classic auto insurance (Hagerty, Progressive, Safeco, etc....). The typical HO policy will automatically provide 10% of the home value as coverage for...

I've got 7-acres of 3-rail vinyl. cross fenced. Posts for gates are filled with concrete to the top. Other posts set in concrete to just above ground level. Coming up on 18-years with it. Just powerwash occasionally, but no problems except for the one the damned horse kicked while shoed and...

The 18 year clean out - Grandpa's shop

Know this feeling all too well after cleaning out my Dad's shop a few years ago. 40+ years of accumulation to go through - mostly tools and car parts, but everything in between as he never met a free thing he did not like (including the satellite dish and I kid you not - the kitchen sink!). Took...

    Garage fire

Being an insurance guy - I have to say it - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF COVERAGE!!!!!! Your typical policy will automatically cover you for 10% of the value of your home for 'other structures' - that includes your detached garage, fences, sheds, pools, BBQ islands, etc.... Most contracts will...
